This afternoon our class tried panettone, a popular Italian dessert served on Christmas. We also made poinsettias, a red flower used as a Christmas decoration in Mexico. We have been reading about different Christmas traditions that are practiced in other countries or cultures.

Sophia, Garfield's therapy dog, is well loved when she visits her school friends. Everyone agrees that she is the best!



Every year Garfield students and staff make decorations to cover a tree for the Stella Wells Christmas Tree Auction. This year they chose a science theme to go along with their school theme of Formula for Success. DNA strands made of colorful pipe cleaners served as garland.
Third grade students enjoyed going to see the Stella Wells trees and learning about the history of it.






Garfield 3rd grade students got a lesson in charitable giving as they visited the PACF's Giving Tuesday event . Students talked to representatives of the many worthy causes in the county and chose ones that stood out to them that they believed should share in special PACF funds.
Mrs.Waun's students started learning about the different holidays around the world! Today they learned about Hanukkah and ended the day learning how to play dreidel!




Today the third graders were invited to participate in a Giving Tuesday at the LCC Event Center! It was a great experience for the students!
