Due to an HVAC issue, the USD 503 school board meeting will not be broadcast live this evening, it will be recorded and posted at a later date. The meeting is being moved to the PHS Community Room.

Garfield School third grade teacher Shelby Liska provides a 10 minute "soft start" to the school day, giving her a few extra minutes to take roll and do other things, and giving students a few extra minutes to play quietly, use the restroom, or work on something.

On Friday we have fun making and eating snow cones thanks to Mrs. Martin! Yum!

We sure enjoyed Mr. Pontious's read aloud today! Such fun!

It was the first day of second grade for these little Vikings! We had a great day!

It was great having Mr. Pontious read to the class on the first day. After the story we collected data on first day feelings and graphed that data for our first math lesson.

STEM bins are a favorite morning activity in Mrs. Tierney's class. This allows us a calm start to our day so that we can ease into school mode and be ready to learn. STEM bins help students learn concepts of science, technology, engineering and math through hands on experience.

Today a student brought me her whiteboard where she had written "I can be a positive leader to others". She went on to write things to share with her classmates. Other students joined in with uplifting messages of their own. Social Emotional Learning is so important at school.
