Guthridge Principal Kurt Friess calls out BINGO to students gathered in the gymnasium Tuesday afternoon. Students could win prizes while their teachers won time together as staff to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner.
Guthridge staff were thankful for the gift of a little quiet time together Tuesday, without students, to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal, complete with turkey, ham sides and desserts. In the mean time, in the gymnasium down the hall, Principal Kurt Friess led the students in games of B-I-N-G-O for prizes.
Happy Thanksgiving from Parsons USD 503!

Congrats to Jaylynn for completing all of her Study Island science topics! She earned a Taco Mayo meal.

This week in library students are working on some new stations as part of their library rotations. They continue to work on reading, learning typing, digital citizenship, but we introduced STEM and OSMO activities as seen here in Mr. Willis' class during library time.
Students in library began a 6 week rotation of working on Hour of Code, reading, typing, creating Pixel art, learning digital citizenship, and working on coding with OSMO.
While learning about the Native American regions, students in Mrs. Brimm's class designed totem poles to represent themselves and/or their families.

We appreciate all the Educational Support Professionals who help USD 503 in educating our youth. Every one of you is vital to our Viking Family. Thank you for all you do!

Everyone needs a "Mrs. Butler" in their life! She has volunteered her time in Mr. Holmes' classroom every week and has been a TREMENDOUS help (you can see she's even helping right up until taking the picture). She is stepping away during the holidays. Thank you, Mrs. Butler, for all your help!!!

Great night to order Domino's!
25% of your total will be donated to Guthridge.
If you order online and select "Dough Raising Night" or call 620-820-2244 and ask to "Speak to the store", your child's classroom could win a class pizza party!

Mrs. Shields' class enjoyed their Domino's pizza today at lunch! They earned a pizza party for having the best attendance for the month of October. Later they were treated with root beer floats for filling their "compliment jar" with good behavior!

During our Native American unit, students in Mrs. Brimm's class learned about the traditional kachina dolls and their meaning. They designed their own kachina dolls and shared why they chose that particular one with the class.

Two students in Mrs. Shields' class have fully beaded their Study Island necklaces. For every topic completed, students add a "Study Island Gem" to their necklace. Way to go boys!

Research shows gratitude boosts happiness! Our 4th graders created a gratitude mandala to put this practice into action.

Friends Friday!!! These two make Guthridge a better place!

Your belongings miss you! Come reunite with them at Lost & Found!

We made totem pole to go along with our Native American unit.
