Guthridge students have the opportunity to earn a Taco Mayo kid's meal by completing math, ELA or science topics in Study Island. These girls were successful at attaining this goal and received the first two Taco Mayo meals for this school year!
Students in Mrs. Brimm's class did one last experiment to finish out our unit on matter. We tested what happens when an egg is put in vinegar over a period of time. We then tested our eggs and concluded that they become bouncy!
The last of our scientists testing their eggs. Unfortunately, some of our eggs didn't make it to the testing stage before they broke.

While learning about acids and chemical reactions, students in Mrs. Brimm's class conducted an experiment to see which substance mixed with an acid would create a chemical reaction and cause their bag to expand and then pop! Loved their reactions!
Students in Ms. Stover's class loved using food as a math manipulative. It was a fantastic way to make concepts stick! The students enjoyed being able to group, move, and count cereal. It created a fun way to build a much stronger understanding of how division works.

Congratulations to Allayna, a 5th grader from Mrs. Brimm's room for winning the Guthridge Spelling Bee!
Today Mrs. Shields' class learned about division and its relationship to multiplication! Students used a sweet snack to practice dividing a total into equal groups and finding the quotient. We also connected each division problem back to a related multiplication fact. All that hard work was definitely worth the sweet treat at the end!
Good luck to our Guthridge class spelling champs this morning as they compete in our Spelling Bee this morning at 9:00.

Mrs. Shields' fourth grade class had so much fun visiting Creation Safari Wildlife Park. Students loved getting to feed, pet, and see the animals up close and end their day with a pumpkin! 🎃
Today Mrs. Shields' class got to see how energy moves through a circuit with Mr. Duroni. Students worked with a partner and used batteries, wires, and light bulbs to build a parallel circuit, where electricity has more than one pathway to travel. 💡⚡️🪫
